The “Good Scout” award is an annual recognition given by the National Capital Area Council to individuals who exemplify outstanding civic service and support within their communities. Recipients of this award embody the principles of Scouting America, including:
- Active and engaged citizenship
- Exemplary moral character, with a commitment to serving others
- Adherence to the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives
