NCAC - Outdoor Adventures

The National Capital Area Council provides many different outdoor programs for Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Venturing Crews. Some programs and rentals are also available to other organizations who are interested in using one of our camp properties.

Outdoor Programs include summer resident camp at Camp William B. Snyder and Goshen Scout Reservation, high adventure opportunities, Cub Scout Day Camps, Cub Scout Resident Camp, weekend camping, and many more.

Outdoor Programs 2025 is an initiative by Scouting America National Capital Area Council to gather input and feedback from our membership to adjust our outdoor programs and facilities to meet our Scouting Community’s expectations.

Check out all the Camps the National Capital Area Council has to offer! Choose from Camp William B. Snyder, Goshen Scout Reservation, Camp Howard M. Wall, and Camp Catoctin Scouting America.

If you enjoy physical challenges and the outdoors, our climbing program has something for you! Imagine standing at the bottom of a sheer cliff and thinking, “That was a FUN climb! I’m going to do it again.”

COPE stands for Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience. COPE is a program that offers fun activities like games, climbing, swinging, and balancing. COPE is for people of all ages who want to challenge themselves and improve their skills.

Packs can conduct overnight campouts. A pack overnight campout can be a great way to get to know the families in the pack and to work on outdoor adventures. Packs may not conduct campouts longer than overnight. The location is a site that is approved by the local council.

Join us at one of our Day camps scheduled to take place across the Washington Metropolitan Area this summer.
