Camping Committee

The NCAC Camping and Outdoor Program Committee (COPC) mission: 

The COPC is the guiding group within Scouting America National Capital Area Council entrusted with delivering the outdoor adventure that attracts youth to Scouting. The Committee plans, promotes, and oversees the Council outdoor program, including: Unit weekend overnight camping, summer camp, District camporees, day camps, Council resident camps, family camping, jamborees, Council high adventure, and National high adventure.” 

To accomplish its mission, the COPC includes the Range and Targeting Activities Committee, High Adventure Committee, Aquatic Committee, COPE and Climbing Committee, Fishing Committee, and representatives from each District and Council camping properties.

Meetings: The third Wednesday in January, March, May, September, and November at 7:00 PM are via Teams. In July, the Committee visits one of the Council’s camps.

Fishing Committee:

Scouting America National Capital Area Council’s Fishing Committee supports the COPC’s mission to deliver outdoor adventures that attract and retain youth to Scouting by creating and promoting opportunities for Scout and Scouter through stimulating and rewarding fishing programs.
