NCAC Announces a special Giving Tuesday date for 2025!

Join us on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 and make a gift to support Scouting.

Scouting America’s National Capital Area Council (NCAC) plays a vital role in shaping the lives of young people. Research consistently shows that Scouting fosters leadership, civic responsibility, and personal growth in youth—qualities that benefit our communities for generations.

By embracing the principles of the Scout Oath and Law, young people learn to live with integrity, compassion, and purpose. These values become guiding lights that influence their decisions and actions throughout their lives.

NCAC offers a wide range of programs that promote teamwork, character building, and friendship. Whether it’s embarking on outdoor adventures like hiking and camping, earning skill-based merit badges, or participating in meaningful service projects, Scouts gain hands-on experiences that help them connect with others and build lifelong relationships.

Our programs also nurture empathy, respect, and resilience. In a safe and encouraging environment, youth are empowered to grow into confident individuals who are ready to face life’s challenges with courage and kindness.

The recent Scouting Edge study highlights the long-term impact of Scouting. It found that Scouts and alumni are more likely than their peers to vote regularly, volunteer in their communities, support youth organizations, and engage in charitable work—hallmarks of active and responsible citizenship.

In essence, Scouting instills a lifelong commitment to service. Scouts don’t just give back to earn badges—they continue to uplift their communities long after their time in uniform.
