Training

Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader.

Every Leader Deserves to be Trained.

Leadership is a skill that is learned through training and practiced by doing. Through the Leadership Training Committee, the National Capital Area Council provides a wide assortment of training opportunities for leaders at every level of Scouting. From Cub and Scouts BSA, through Sea Scouts and Venturing, we offer the required and supplemental courses you need to “Get Trained, Then Lead.”

Continuous Improvement is Our Goal

Doctors, government and industry leaders, educators, and other professionals engage in continuous training. We expect the same of our leaders. While basic training (Position Specific Training and Introduction to Outdoor Leaders Skills, for example) does not expire, we encourage our leaders to stay current on the latest techniques and offer classes to facilitate that.
